Piano Restoration

Should the piano need more than a simple repair or service we can assist with a total rebuild or even giving your piano a new look.

Pianos that have lost their original tone or finish can be brought back to life. This can result in them sounding and looking much finer than when they were first constructed. With the superb quality of the wood used in older cabinetry combined with the quality of felts, strings, and leathers that are available today, the results achievable can result in a fine instrument that can be of use for many years to come

If the piano is in need of restoration, we will evaluate and advise you based on the following:

• The age and availability of parts.
• The cost vs. quality of the piano.
• The client’s needs, including sentimental value.

Major restoration is a timestaking process and can take anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months depending on the extent of the work and availability of spares. 

A major repair could include stripping the piano completely down to the original wood and working up from the soundboard. Repairing the soundboard, removing the frame, replacing the pinblock, respraying the cabinet and finally doing the tuning and regulation to complete the masterpiece.
